![]() The Parasite Eve video game series made its debut in 1998 via Square Enix and released for the Sony PlayStation. This could be in a form of different media (video games included). In order for the trademark to be filed, Square Enix must prove that the company has a specific intent to use the trademark. Recently, video game developer and publisher Square Enix filed a trademark for the franchise at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), which suggests that it might have a comeback in the video game scene soon. If, right now, it is an absolutely confusing time to become a collector of old-school Square. To those who are looking forward to another Parasite Eve game, the wait might possibly be over. While reports continue to agree that a remake or a remaster of Chrono cross is in development, there was speculation that it would be revealed at The Games Awards 2021 which of course never happened. Between a remake of Chrono Trigger and a movie released in English, I’d rather say that. This would be extremely exciting considering that Square Enix trademarked the game last year in the United States, which was the first time they made it here on Nintendo Enthusiast. Since Square Enix didn’t demand that the Live A Live ROM be taken down, it would suggest that the company hasn’t had any current re-release plans for it. If we continue to apply that very optimistic, pie-in-the-sky logic, it would still suggest an awful conclusion. But the odds are at least worse than zero that Square Enix is planning on doing something with these games. ![]() In any case, its really grasping at straws to claim a Chrono Trigger remake or a remake of the Franken or Parasite Eve remake or the remake of the Remaster is in development. For starters, although Square Enix doesn’t have active marketing campaigns for Chrono Trigger right now, it still has the game for sale on Steam and mobile (and so does PSN, I think?) So, even though the timing would be extremely peculiar, the takedown of the Chrono Trigger ROM at FantasyAnime could still be connected with that. There are a lot of what-ifs, and maybes at stake here. The Swiss cheese cup is the only solution to a chronology of the trigger (or sequel to Parasite Eve and the sequel to the Next Station) remake. They’re just concerned about the real effect of their current games (Trials of Mana, SaGa Collection, etc.) and games in production (Chrono Trigger remake?įantasyAnime December 14, 2021. I gathered that cuz SE didn’t include live-a-live, Treasure Hunter G, and the treasure of the Rudras in the takedown. So, FantasyAnime hypothesizes perhaps wishfully, and frankly, Square Enix has plans for largely dormant titles like Chrono Trigger and Parasite Eve, perhaps even a remake. ![]() The other reason is that Square Enix didn’t make FantasyAnime remove the ROM for inactive properties that aren’t available in the United States such as Live A Live, The Treasure Hunter G and the Rudras. One of these is that FantasyAnime has never hidden what it does, meaning the date of the takedown could be significant. Since an estimated 22 years ago, FantasyAnime offered a ROM or ROMs and many patches for RPGs, including Square Enix games like Chrono Trigger, Parasite Eve and Front Mission, and now Square issued a takedown notice for many of them. FantasyAnime is a Japanese version of the old school, with very specific content and other specific offerings.
